Motorcycle and tricycle operators to undergo biometric capture nationwide
In order to check the incidence of crime being perpetrated using tricycles and motorcycles, motorcycle and tricycle operators in the country will soon have their biometric data captured.
Lagos State Governor plans to take over the National Stadium from FG
Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, says his administration is ready to take over the National Stadium, Surulere, from the Federal Government and transform it to a world-class sporting centre.
The governor disclosed this yesterday after an inspection tour of the facilities in the stadium along with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung; Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Pinnick, amongst others.
Ambode, who lamented that the stadium had degenerated, said he would restore the old glory of the stadium once the Federal Government gave it to the state.
The governor said rehabilitating the stadium would bring about employment and facilitate family bonding.
The governor thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, while also commending Dalung for spearheading the move to hand over the stadium to Lagos State.
Earlier, Dalung lamented the dilapidated condition of the stadium and called for a comprehensive action to return it to its pride of place.

FG approves N701bn power purchase guarantee for Gencos
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) presided over by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, has approved N701 billion as Power Assurance Guarantee for the Nigeria Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET). It also approved the sum of N263 million for three research institutions to produce gum arabic seedlings for Nigerian farmers and for export.
