Pregnant woman set husband ablaze 5 weeks after wedding in Kano
A pregnant woman on Saturday, May 26, allegedly set her husband and herself ablaze over alleged infidelity at their Sabon Gari residence in Kano, five weeks after their wedding. It was gathered that the woman accused her husband of infidelity after she overhead a phone conversation between him and an unidentified woman. She snatched the phone with him and threatened to do something bad.
NYSC explains why it sacked 49 corps members
The Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps in Osun State, Mr. Emmanuel Attah has explained why 49 corps members were sent back to their parents from the orientation camp. Attah said the affected workers were sacked from camp based on health. The coordinator made this known on Tuesday evening during the inspection of the permanent orientation camp in Ede by the Director-General of the NYSC, Brig-General Suleiman Kazaure.

The Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly (Senate), Senator Ita Enang, has said no date has yet been fixed for the signing of the 2017 budget by the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. Enang, in an electronic mail to our correspondent on Wednesday, in Abuja, said consultations were still being held on the budget.
JAMB releases UTME results
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has released 1,606,901 results out of the 1,718, 425 that registered in the just concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
The JAMB registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, told a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday that the results were released within 24 hours of the examination, adding that the remaining 80,889 candidates results would be released soon.
