Anambra state governor, Willie Obiano, today suspended his official functions to save the life of a middle aged woman that was involved in an accident at Ugwunwasike junction, Ogidi in the state today July 18th. The unidentified lady who sustained injuries on the head was lying on the road with passersby scrambling to find a way to take her to the hospital.
Court orders EFCC to takeover Lagos Hotel
A Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday ordered the temporary forfeiture of Victoria East Park Hotel and Suites to EFCC over alleged N53.7 million fraud. Justice Chuka Obiozor issued the forfeiture order of the hotel located on Igbogbo-Mayegun Road in Ikorodu, Lagos State, following
an ex parte application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Calabar fire death toll now 11
The death in the fire at the Linc Oil and Gas tank farm in the Calabar free trade zone facility on Sunday is now 11. Commissioner of Police Hafiz Inuwa, on Sunday confirmed that nine persons died as a result of the inferno. The Chief Medical Director of UCTH, Prof. Thomas Agan, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the hospital admitted nine persons shortly after the tragic incident.

Acting Director, Corporate Communications of the apex bank, Mr Isaac Okorafor, said in a statement on Monday that $100 million was offered through the wholesale segment. He said that Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) segment received $50 million, while tuition fees, medical payments and Basic Travel Allowance (BTA), among others, got $45 million.
