Sokoto State releases N680m for pensions, severance gratuities



    Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has approved the release of N680 million to settle pension arrears of teachers, local government staff and severance gratuity for former councillors in the state. Alhaji Mannir Dan’Iya, the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development in a statement in Sokoto on Wednesday said that already, payments had started and all beneficiaries would receive their entitlements in due course.

University of Nigeria (UNN) rejects JAMB's 120 cut-off mark, fixes dates for Post-UTME



    The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has rejected the 120 cut-off mark fixed by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for 2017/2018 universities admission. The University has fixed 200 as her official cut-off mark for 2017/2018 admission.

    According to reports making the rounds online, Mr. Ogah Onwe Chinedu, a lecturer in the department of History and international relations in Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki has been Dismissed by the EBSU Senate for allegedly being guilty of so many allegations charged against him.

   Famous Katsina politician Senator Mahmud Kanti Bello has died in Abuja at the age of 72. Bello, a two-time senator, died early Tuesday at a hospital in Abuja after a brief illness. He was buried in Abuja according to Islamic rites.
