Topic: What Are You Going To Do Differently? [TREM Devotional 28 March 2019]
“As Goliath moved closer to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him.” 1 Samuel 17:48 NLT

Beloved, I have come to challenge you and to move you out of that place of complacency. This season must be filled with outstanding testimonies for you. I am looking forward to hearing about your great exploits in the news media. In order for this to happen, child of God, you must arise. Albert Einstein said “insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different    results.” The question is, what have you done differently? How have you stepped out of your ‘comfort zone’ to ensure that your goals become a reality? How have you approached that difficult issue with doggedness, saying to yourself ‘there must be a way’?

We are all very familiar with the story of David and Goliath. David brought down the giant that was terrorizing the entire nation. Our text points out something very key, it says David ran towards Goliath. Imagine an enormous and terrifying giant approaching you, the normal reaction is to take off in whatever direction you can, and hide yourself, but not David. “…He quickly ran out to meet him.” That action alone aided David’s victory because I can bet you Goliath was not expecting it. And so the shock alone from this little guy running quickly towards him must have destabilized him. And before he knew it, the stone sunk into his skull, and he was on the ground. Why? Because one person understood who he was in the Lord and decided to act differently. When you truly understand who you are, you won’t act and respond to situations like everyone else.

Child of God, what are you going to do differently that will put you at the cutting edge? How are you going to reposition yourself to enjoy all that God has in store for you? This is your hour and your moment and it is irreversible. But you must not do the same things that haven’t produced good results in your life. Otherwise, you would remain at the same position.
