MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 17 July 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – The Trumpet Shall Sound (I)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalm 18-19; Acts 20:17-38

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

MEMORY VERSE: “And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.” – Numbers 10:9

The MESSAGE:

According to the Bible, trumpets are used in war. Numbers 10:9 says, “And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.” On this, 1 Corinthians 14:8 also reads, “For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?” Trumpets are also used in worship and celebrations (Leviticus 25:9; 1 Kings 1:34 and 2 Kings 9:13).

In the New Testament, when the Bible teaches about the second coming of Christ and the resurrection of the dead, the sounding of trumpet is also mentioned. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 specifically says, “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an arch angel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.” This verse brings to us the third use of the trumpet. Believers who are alive to witness Christ’s second coming shall hear a shout with the voice of an arch angel and the sound of the trumpet of God.

Beloved, it is certain that the trumpet shall sound. It is the trumpet of God and it shall announce the second coming of Jesus Christ. The trumpet shall sound so loud as to wake up the dead. That is, the dead shall hear the sound and wake up; first the dead in Christ and then others who died afterwards. Then those that are alive shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and be with Him for ever. The Bible wants the saints in Christ to comfort themselves with this revelation. As a believer, no matter the trial, tribulation, persecution or hardship you may be passing through now, it will not be forever. Jesus is coming back to take you home to the place of everlasting joy and peace. There shall no more be pain, sorrow, hunger and death. Are you prepared for the second coming of Jesus Christ and the rapture?

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
WE ALL MAKE CHOICES BUT IN THE END OUR CHOICES MAKE US.

PROPHETIC WORD:
You shall not miss the rapture.
