Topic: Believe And Do It God’s Way [TREM Devotional 11 November 2019]

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.” – Isaiah 55:8 KJV

One of the things that hinder believers is that they want to understand things based on their environments. You are not of this world even though you are in the world. If you studied the life of Jesus Christ, you will notice that He walked diametrically opposite to the world. He was not ready to impress anyone. In John 4:34, Jesus saith unto them; my meat is to do the will of Him that sent me, and to finish His work.’ Many of us have limited ourselves because we want to impress people. We want people to clap for us. We want them to say that we are doing it right. So, we try to “make things right” when God intends that we should do it His way.

Uzzah died prematurely, when they were bringing back the Ark in a very dignified way on a new cart. Some of us have built ‘new carts’ and we are wondering why the glory is not there. But there would be no glory because the Ark is meant to be carried on the shoulders of men: the priests. We must be careful, especially in this day and hour that we are in. While adapting ourselves to the changes, we should also be careful not to remove the ancient landmark. If you remove the ancient landmark which has already been put in place, you would be carrying the Ark but there would be no glory. The Ark would become impotent because it is not carried in the right way.

Uzzah died on the spot. Prior to this time, the Ark was in the house of Abinadab for twenty years, but nothing happened. The glory was there but nothing happened until they moved the Ark to the house of Obed-edom. Obed-edom knew how to apply himself to the Ark. In three months, everything about him was blessed. It was the same Ark but handled differently. Make a commitment to believe and do it God’s way from today.
