Topic: Follow Christ All The Way [TREM Devotional 19 November 2019]
“And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.” – Luke 22:61 (KJV)

Who are the converted? The converted are people who have received Jesus into their lives, but they are not following Him. They stop at conversion! They do not go beyond being converted! The moment they received Jesus; their love stopped. They are not obeying the Word. They are not involved in anything.

They are not interested in anything. They develop an attitude of “I am just saved and that is all”. The danger with such people is that with any little shaking, they backslide. You cannot trust them. You cannot depend on them. A little shaking and they go back to the things they used to do. And you begin to wonder what went wrong. It is because they got converted and stopped there. The will of God is that when we are converted, we will follow them. Jesus said, “Come, follow me and I will make you.” (Mark 1:17).

Peter was an example. Does that shock you? Jesus said, ‘Satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, so that when you finally come back to your senses; you would strengthen your brethren.’ Peter said ‘No way! Others may do it but you can count on me.’ It didn’t take long; there was an acid test to know whether he could be counted upon. And Peter swore that he was not among those who followed Jesus. He denied Jesus.

Many people do not know that problems are conduits to reveal what is in men’s heart and to take them to another level. A problem came, and he ran. He denied the Lord three times saying, “I don’t know Him”. Peter did exactly what Judas did but the prayer the Lord offered on his behalf saved him. Jesus keeps interceding for you. No problem can overwhelm you. Go beyond being converted and follow Him all the way.
