Topic: You Are Perfected In Christ Jesus [TREM Devotional 21 November 2019]

“For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.” – Hebrews 10:1 KJV

Jesus has been made a High Priest after the order of Melchizedek. The Aaronic priesthood had margins for failure but not Jesus: our High Priest. Remember that the standing of the high priest is your own standing. If he is good, you are good. If he is bad you are bad. If he is perfect, you are perfect. If he is holy, you are holy. If he is just you are just. If he is successful, you are successful. Understand your standing today.

Jesus is our High Priest! And because He is standing there, we can always approach God without fear. You can always approach Him boldly knowing that His Word says while you are still praying, He will answer you. You can always approach Him, knowing that when you open your mouth, heaven responds because Christ is your High Priest

In the Aaronic priesthood, when goats and pigeons were brought for sacrifice, all that the priest needed to do was to examine the sacrifice. They did not examine the people who brought the sacrifice. Once they examined the sacrifice and the high priest was satisfied, all that the people who brought it needed to do was to put their hands on the sacrifice. All the innocence of that animal would become their own, and all their own sins would be on the sacrificial animal. They went away as if they did not do anything wrong.

But do you know the beauty of the new covenant priesthood? The sacrifice is Jesus and He is also the High Priest who offers the sacrifice. So, Jesus did not only offer a perfect sacrifice, He also stands perfect. And He presents you daily. He presents you as holy and perfect. He presents you successful. Therefore, you should stop seeing your standing in yourself. Your standing is in Jesus.
