Trem Daily Devotional 3rd November 2019- THE HOPE OF GOD IS SOLID

“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
Romans 15:13 KJV

I want to highlight the difference between the hope of God and the hope of man. Man’s hope is not dependable. ‘Are you travelling in December?’ I hope so! That’s conditional. It is dependent on many things; probably if your office gives you permission or probably if you have money to take a flight. As you are human, there are many elements and factors that can make it not happen. ‘Are you sure you are going to be paid at the end of the month?’

“Yes, they said so;” but it is possible that you are not paid.  It could take another week for you to be paid; but you’ve been making plans towards the end of the month, hoping the money would come in. It is supposed to come but it doesn’t, because human elements always come into play when it comes to human hope.

‘When is your Expected Delivery Date (EDD)?’ It is on the 6th of September (for instance). On the day the Doctor said would be your EDD, you arrived at the hospital only to be told it would take another week.  There are many conditions and factors that can make it not to happen. That is the hope of man.

But when it comes to the hope of God, you can depend on it. There is no failure with God. When God is talking about His hope, He is talking about confident expectation. It is not something that changes. No!  You can be confident that it would work because, the hope of God is not dependent on anything existing anywhere. Let me tell you what it is dependent on. The hope of God is dependent on the promises God has made. Let God be true, but let every man be a liar. (Romans 3:4) Let the devil be a liar, but let God be true. The hope of God is solid. You can depend on it. You can confidently expect that it will surely come to pass.
