Yobe Governor Present N108.4 Billion For 2020 Budget


    Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, Wednesday presented an estimated budget of N108, 414, 101, 082 before the State House of Assembly for the 2020 financial year.

   The budget which was tagged as budget of continuity and consolidation was said to represent an increase of N16.7 billion or 15.5% over that of the previous year. Governor Buni, while presenting the budget, explained that of the total proposed budget sum, N58,048,101,082 (53.5%) would cater for recurrent expenditure and N50, 366, 000, 000 (46.5%) would cater for capital expenditure programmes.
 
  The budget he said, would firstly, build on the momentum to revitalize the education sector. “Secondly, the 2020 Budget, will seek to boost agriculture by encouraging a transition from our traditional subsistent to commercial farming. Our administration is poised to improve food security and provide avenues for wealth creation and youth empowerment.
