(POLITICS) Read Tinubu's Statement Titled “We Accept President Buhari’s Assignment” After Buhari Handed Over Campaign To Him

 

    Tinubu assured the President that the council would not let him down “because doing so would also let down the nation”. In a statement he personally signed and sent to DAILY POST, the former Lagos State governor rallied members of the campaign council with the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, as Director-General, for the task ahead.

    In a statement entitled “We Accept President Buhari’s Assignment,” Tinubu said the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, should not be allowed to return to power and “return to the days where they rule the nation like overlords.” He said the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar wasted the national treasury for eight years he was in power. The statement reads:

(LOCAL) Police Hospital Declares Dino Melaye Fit For Trial

 

  The Police Hospital in Garki, Abuja has declared the senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, fit to face trial.

  The conclusion was arrived at after several test conducted on the senator came out negative. Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of medical Kaomi Amadu said the conclusion was an indication that the senator was not medically challenged as he claimed.  Melaye urged the police to relocate him to National hospital after three days of treatment at Police hospital.

Federal Government In Agreement With ASUU, Releases N15.4bn For Salary Shortfalls


  The Federal Government has reached an agreement with members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

   Addressing journalists on Monday evening after the meeting with the striking lecturers in Abuja, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, said the majority of their demands have been met including the release of N15.4 billion for payment of salary shortfalls.
