(ENTERTAINMENT) Davido's Reaction To The Postponement Of Election

 

   Nigerian singer as joined other celebrities in reacting to the postponement of the presidential elections meant to hold today, February 16th, 2018. According to the singer, the president’s seat is a great one and Buhari may be finding it difficult to let go for at least another one week.

    Reacting via his Instagram page, the comedian said he doesn’t understand the rocket science behind planning an election that INEC could not come up with even with four years of preparation. He however advised INEC on possible ways of going about their preparation to forestall similar occurrences in the nearest feature. He wrote:

I am deeply disappointed that despite the long notice given and our preparations both locally and internationally, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) postponed the Presidential and National Assembly elections within hours of its commencement.

Many Nigerians have traveled to various locations to exercise their right to vote, and international observers are gathered.

(POLITICS) Atiku urges Nigerians to be patient over decision to shift elections by one week

 

   Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has urged   Nigerians to be patient over decision to shift elections by one week. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) gave logistic reasons for shifting all the elections by one week.

(POLITICS) INEC postpones elections till 23 February


   The Independent National Electoral Commission has decided to shift Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections till next week 23 February. The Governorship and state assembly elections will take place on 9 March, instead of 2 March as initially scheduled.

   It was one of the decisions reached early today in a crunch talk between between INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu and 12 national commissioners in Abuja, according to sources close to the meeting. Professor Yakubu will be briefing the media later today on the decision, amidst reports of logistics problems faced by the commission.
