Topic: God Hears Our Prayers [Joyce Meyer Devotional 6 March 2019]
Elijah was a man with a nature like ours [with the same physical, mental, and spiritual limitations and shortcomings], and he prayed intensely for it not to rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land produced its crops [as usual]. — James 5:17-18 (AMP)

I like the fact that James makes the point that Elijah had a nature like ours. He was imperfect and displayed weaknesses, but God heard and answered his prayers.

Praise precedes victory!

Topic: A Heart of Belief [Billy Graham Devotional 6 March 2019]
If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. — Romans 10:9

The heart is the blood-pump of the body. It is also used metaphorically when we speak of affections and feelings. Since it is the central organ of the body and one of the most vital, the Bible speaks of it as the wellspring of life. Hence, it is used synonymously with “life.” When the Bible says, “Son, give me thine heart,” it doesn’t mean that we are to cut out our actual hearts and give them to God. It means that we are to give Him our lives, our all.

The Word Encounter by Pastor David Ibiyeomie

The Word Encounter by Pastor David Ibiyeomie

We attract what we expect and we reflect what we desire. Again, we become what we respect and we mirror what we admire.

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

God’s word is like a mirror; each time you look at it, you admire it and whatever you admire, you mirror and imitate.
