ANDREW WOMMACK DAILY DEVOTIONAL 25TH MARCH- HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER

ANDREW WOMMACK DAILY DEVOTIONAL 25TH MARCH- HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER

MATTHEW 12:20, "A bruised reed shall he not break, and a smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgement unto victory."
MATTHEW 12:15-21, MARK 3:7-19, LUKE 6:12-16
One of the ways in which God's goodness is revealed is in mercy. We may describe mercy as the readiness of God to relieve the misery of fallen creatures. Many times, mercy is called compassion or lovingkindness. It is expressed toward the sinner because of the misery that sin has brought upon him.

The "reed" referred to in this passage is probably speaking of the reeds that grew in the marshy areas in the land of Palestine. These were very fragile and could be easily bruised or broken. The term "smoking flax" refers to a linen wick which was made from flax and burned brightly when floating on oil in an open lamp. However, when the oil was depleted, the flax would just smoke until the oil was replenished.

TREM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 25TH MARCH- CHOOSE TO SPEAK LIFE

TREM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 25TH MARCH- CHOOSE TO SPEAK LIFE
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21 KJV

Dearly beloved, never stop declaring your expectations because the verdict is yours. Now is the time to stand your ground till you see the manifestation of your desires. ‘Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.’ Child of God, this is not the time to give up and say ‘Oh, I have prayed and nothing is happening’.  Never judge an answer to prayers based on whether there’s a physical manifestation or not.  It is a wrong assessment. God is a Spirit and we His children are made up of spirit, soul and body. And so in the spirit realm, you have your answers. What  you need to do is bring it from the realm of the spirit into the physical. And  you do that with your mouth.

He who, being often reproved, hardens his neck shall suddenly be destroyed—and that without remedy.

Proverbs 29:1, The Amplified Bible

Some people have the mistaken idea that when the direction of the Holy Spirit comes to them, they can just ignore it for a while if they want to and then obey Him later in their own good time. They think to themselves, I know what I'm doing is wrong. I know my lifestyle isn't right, but I'm just going to do it a while longer. Then I'll get things straightened out with the Lord.

Let me warn you, that is an extremely dangerous thing to do. Because God says that when you refuse His guidance, your heart grows hard. It's not that God's grace doesn't extend to you anymore. It's not that He wouldn't forgive you if you turned to Him. It's just that sin will callous your heart to the point where you can't hear Him calling.

That's what happened to the children of Israel. God would tell them what to do and they wouldn't do it. When He was trying to bring them into the Promised Land and He told them to go in and possess it, they flatly refused.

Of course, they thought they had good reasons for refusing. They were so full of fear and unbelief that they actually thought if they did what God said, they'd be destroyed. But, you know, it doesn't matter how good your reasons are for disobeying God. That disobedience will still cost you. It will still harden your heart.

If a person isn’t loving and kind, it shows that he doesn’t know God—for God is love. — 1 John 4:8 (TLB)

Jesus wept tears of compassion at the graveside of a friend. He mourned over Jerusalem because as a city it had lost its appreciation of the things of the Spirit. His great heart was sensitive to the needs of others. To emphasize the importance of man’s love for men, He revised an old commandment to make it read, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart . . . and thy neighbor as thyself.” This generation is rough and tough.

Memorise: “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”- 1 Timothy 1:15

Read: 1 John 1:7-10 (KJV)

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
