Be Resolute In Your Faith by Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Be Resolute In Your Faith by Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Dearly Beloved, I bring you greetings in the name that is above every other name, Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God and our soon coming King. It is a blessing to be alive today. Thank God for His goodness and mercies towards us. This morning, I want to admonish us, to be resolute in our faith.

Let us examine this scripture together,

1 Corinthians 16:13 (MSG)

“Keep your eyes open, hold tight to your convictions, give it all you’ve got, be resolute.”

I’ve said it many times and it bears repetition that these are the last days, and the devil is out of the closet, knowing that his time is short. However, the good news is that as believers, victory is guaranteed already and this is why you must decide to stand against all odds.

. . . greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. — 1 John 4:4

Paul once wrote, “For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other; so that ye can not do the things that ye would” (Galatians 5:17). This is the battle or the tension that is present in us to a greater or lesser degree. So, you see, the spiritual lag that you feel is explained in the Bible. That does not mean that you accept it as the way it should be. You should make all necessary preparations for this battle which the Bible says “is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces.”

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree. – Galatians 3:13

You know the story. Satan came to Adam’s wife in the form of a serpent and deceived her into disobeying God. Adam, although he was not deceived, followed suit.

When Satan came into the Garden that day, he didn’t have any power at all. He had to come in like a sneak, not even talking to Adam directly but talking to his wife.

Compete with Yourself by Pastor David Ibiyeomie

Compete with Yourself by Pastor David Ibiyeomie

Excellence is being truly the best at something, outstandingly successful. It is surpassing others in some good qualities. It is dong a common thing uncommonly well. Excellence is delivering first-class quality in everything you do.

Ecclesiastes 10:10 (KJV) If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.

If you don’t have a sharpened skill, you may have to put in more strength. The quality of your life is determined by your commitment to excellence. Seek to improve on what you’ve learnt. School will inform you but personal development will transform you. Maximize your potential. There is something you can do that you have not yet done. Challenge yourself to be better than your previous result. Compete with yourself; not people.

God is a God of excellence. When He created all things in Gen. 1, the Bible recorded that it was very good; that means it was excellent. When Jesus came to the earth, Mark 2:12 recorded that people were amazed at Him.

Keys To Family Dominion (Part 2) by Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Keys To Family Dominion (Part 2) by Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Dear Reader,

Last week, I taught on how seeking revelation and being positive will help you exercise family dominion.

However, this week, I will be examining Unity in the Family. The Bible says: …how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! (Psalm 133:1). Doubtlessly, unity in the family fosters dominion. When you are united as a family, your dominion is unquestionable and visible.

Genesis 11:6 says: …Behold, the people is one… and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. This shows the strength of unity! Thus, to exercise dominion in your family, ensure there is unity in all that you set out to do. As the head of the family, there should be transparency to enable the members of your family know where you are leading them to. This makes it easy for them to follow and brings about the much-needed unity that culminates in dominion.

It is quite unfortunate that even Christians, worshipping in the same church have challenges in their relationship with one another. The responsibility of living peaceably is not only on one person but on all members of the family. Ensure that peace reigns among you. Parents, teach your children how to live peacefully among one another; this should also extend to your in-laws.

Memorise: “Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.”- Proverbs 29:17

Read: 1 Samuel 3:11-14 (KJV)

11 And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.

12 In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end.

13 For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.

14 And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.
