Topic: Excellence, The Sponsor Of Eminence [Seeds of Destiny 27 May 2019 Devotional]

When the Name of God is mentioned, it is identified with excellence.

SCRIPTURE: What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Psalm 8:4-5

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When the Name of God is mentioned, it is identified with excellence.

Eminence is the state of being famous, respected or important. It is fame or acknowledged superiority within a particular sphere of human endeavour. Eminence is synonymous with distinction, renown, notability, greatness, prestige, importance, repute, etc.

Man was created by God to exist in eminence or greatness. Man was created by God as king of creation, crowned with glory and honour, not shame and reproach. You were created to dominate creation and not to be dominated.

If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee. – Exodus 15:26

Has the devil ever tried to put you under condemnation by telling you that it’s contrary to the principles of faith to use doctors and medicine when you need healing? If so, here are some encouraging words that I believe will help you put your heart at rest.

Luke 9:23, ‘And he said to them all, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.’

Matthew 16:16-26; Mark 8:30-37; Luke 9:21-27

Self-denial is an important part of the Christian life. Jesus sacrificed His life for us and He demands that we die to ourselves that we might experience the new life He has provided. We do this first by recognizing that we can’t save ourselves by our own effort and, second, by trusting God – not self – for salvation. Then daily, we need to deny our own wisdom and seek God’s wisdom and direction for our lives.

Memorise: “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them.”- 1 Samuel 2:8

Read: Genesis 41:39-46 (KJV)

39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:

40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

42 And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;

43 And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.
