      Mohammed Sani-Omolori, clerk of the national assembly says the ninth assembly will be inaugurated on Tuesday.

   Speaking with journalists in Abuja on Thursday, Sani-Omolori said he has a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari to that effect.

   The governor of Kano state has cancelled an annual city parade by the powerful traditional emir, officials said today. Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje scrapped the horseback procession by the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, after a security meeting held late on Wednesday.
