MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 11 June 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Dead Seed

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ezra 1-2; John 19:23-42

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Luke 8:5-8

MEMORY VERSE: “The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?” – Proverbs 21:27

The MESSAGE:

Seed represents a unit of life that can be reproduced in both plants and animals. For example, if a viable maize seed is planted in a good soil, it will germinate and grow to produce many more seeds that can increase harvest. However, not every seed is alive for a seed can be dead. One important lesson most of us still remember from secondary school biology are the attributes of life which include movement, reproduction, nutrition (feeding), irritability (response to stimulus), growth, excretion (removal of waste) and respiration. Similarly, if your seed is alive, it can do these and lots more for you.

Topic: We Are God’s Children [Billy Graham Devotional 11 June 2019]

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the [children] of God . . . —1 John 3:1

As God’s children, we are His dependents. The Bible says, “Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear Him.” Dependent children spend little time worrying about meals, clothing, and shelter. They assume, and they have a right to, that all will be provided by their parents. Because God is responsible for our welfare, we are told to cast all our care upon Him, for He careth for us.

Topic: Effortless Fruit [Andrew Wommack Devotional 11 June 2019]

John 7:38 ‘He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.’

John 7:37-41
These rivers of living water are referring to the Holy Spirit and the effects He produces in the life of the believer. Galatians 5:22-23 says, ‘the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.’ These qualities should flow out of us as an artesian well. They should not have to be pumped. They will flow as we conform our thinking to God’s Word.

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. – Colossians 3:2

Things, things, things! A better job. A bigger house. New clothes for the kids. Tomorrow’s luncheon date. A better television. Get the picture?

Many of us have learned to believe God to prosper us to such a degree that we have too much to keep up with. We end up spending so much time and energy taking care of the legitimate “things” of life that we unconsciously give the attention and affections of our heart over to this natural world instead of to God.

Text: 2 Kings 11:13-21 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And Jehoiada made a covenant between the Lord and the people, that they should be the Lord’s people; between the king also and the people” – (2 Kings 11:17).

MESSAGE:
Abraham Lincoln, one time president of the United States of America made an historic speech on the 11th of February 1861 in Springfield Illinois, where he said: “Unless the great God who assisted President George Washington shall be with me and aid me, I must fail; but if the same omniscient mind and mighty arm that directed and protected him shall guide and support me, I shall not fail, I will succeed. Let us pray that the God of our fathers may not forsake us now”.

Memorise: “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”- 2 Timothy 2:3

Read: 2 Corinthians 11:22-33 (KJV)

22 Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I.

23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.

24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.

25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;

26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
