Restoring A Bad Marriage (Part 4) by Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Restoring A Bad Marriage (Part 4) by Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Dear Reader,

I welcome you to the last edition of this month teaching series and am confident that you have been blessed, I pray that your home is totally restored from any and every form of disaster in Jesus’ name. Today marks the beginning of new things for you and your family even as you take yield to God’s word in this last series.

Knowing fully well that a faulty foundation is the root cause of a bad marriage. This week I will be sharing with you, restoration from a bad marriage which begins by laying a solid foundation for your marriage.

It is important for you to know that marriage is a covenant relationship and not a promise. It is not just coming together of a man and a woman for the purpose of procreation. Although having children is one of the blessings of marriage, marriage means much more than that. There are certain conditions that are attached to a covenant, while a promise does not have any attached to it. Many people, especially Christians, think that a good marriage is a promise from God, so they wait endlessly for the fulfilment of that promise. Others think it comes by wishing, so they keep wishing. There is an adage that says, “If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.”

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. – Galatians 6:7

If you feel like you’re under pressure these days, you’re not alone. Satan is putting more pressure on more people right now than ever before. He’s pressuring us mentally, financially, emotionally and every other way he can. The pressure has gotten so great everywhere that governments don’t know what to do. Businesses don’t know what to do. Families don’t know. Churches don’t know.

Text: Acts 13:1-7 (KJV)

1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

4 So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.

5 And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.

6 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus:

7 Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.

Key Verse: “As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them” (Acts 13:2).

Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it. — Luke 18:17

I recently wrote in my journal, “Keep it simple.” Life is certainly complicated and tends to be very stressful. I spent years praying that my circumstances would change so I could enjoy life, but finally realized I needed to change my approach to life.

Memorise: Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. – 2 Timothy 3:5

Read: 2 Timothy 3:1-9 (KJV)

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
