“Travel days will no longer attract payment of Estacode Allowances for ministers''- President Buhari


     President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a directive for ministers, director-generals and other top government officials to submit travel plans for clearance.  Willie Bassey, director of information to Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), announced this in a statement on Wednesday.

    Bassey also said that henceforth, “travel days will no longer attract payment of Estacode Allowances as duration of official trips shall be limited to only the number of days of the event as contained in the supporting documents to qualify for public funding”.

We must address the current security challenges in FCT- Senate President, Lawan

 

  The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, on Tuesday held a crucial security meeting with top officials who are directly charged with the security of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

  The meeting, which held at the Senate President’s office, was also attended by key officers of the Senate. “We are very concerned, like all of you are, about the level of security challenges in the FCT,” Lawan said in his remarks before the meeting went into a closed door session.

    National Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole, has issued a warning to Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State to stop blackmailing him. Oshiomhole further advised the governor that instead of blackmailing him, he needs to focus on delivery of good governance to the people.

Federal Government can’t meet Labour’s minimum wage demand - Ngige

 

   Federal Government and Labour leaders met today October 16. The Minister of Labour and Employment Chris Ngige has stated that the Nigerian government can't meet the minimum wage demand.
 
    Reacting to the disagreement that ensued with Labour leaders on the percentage of increment for senior workers after the Federal Government started paying workers on Grade Levels 1 to 6 the N30,000 minimum wage, the Minister said the Nigerian economy will grind to a halt like that of Venezuela if it gives in to the labour union demands.

President Buhari Seek Approval Of N10bn For Kogi State

   

    President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday sought the permission of the Senate to approve over N10bn for Kogi State. In the letter, Buhari said, the amount was expended on projects on behalf of the Federal Government, which he was seeking the refund through promissory notes and bonds.
