'Fight back or resign' – Arewa youths to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo

 

  President General of The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, AYCF, Yerima Shettima has advised Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to fight back for being ridiculed in the Presidency or resign as Vice President to avoid being removed. 

  Shettima further said the current government has undermined Osinbajo and wondered why the Vice President has remained silent in the face of his travail in the Presidency. The AYCF leader made this known while speaking with the press in reaction to the sack of some aides attached to the Vice President, which Presidency said was necessary to reduce cost. According to Daily Post, Shettima disclosed that certain people at the corridors of power are manipulating the system for their selfish interest, making sure that the Vice President was put off the system so that he can’t find his way to the presidency in 2023.

15 killed in train collision in Bangladesh

    Officials on Tuesday said 15 people were killed and scores more wounded after two inter-city trains crashed in eastern Bangladesh. Police officer Shaymal Das said the accident occurred at around 3a.m (2100 GMT) in Brahmanbaria district, about 80km east of the capital Dhaka.

   Chief administrator of the district, Hayat Khan said nine bodies were found at the crash site near Mondobhag Railway Station. Another six people, among the 40 injured rescued and transported to local hospitals, died of their wounds. Khan explained that two coaches of one of the trains were severely damaged as the Dhaka-bound Turna Nishita train hit the Chattogram-bound Udayan Express while it was changing tracks.

Igbo businessman, Osondu Nwachukwu killed by his abductors despite receiving a ransom for his release

    A businessman identified as Osondu Nwachukwu, has been killed by his abductors despite receiving a ransom for his release in Nasarawa State.

   Nwachukwu’s family in an interview called for more government action at the state and federal levels in tackling the security challenges bedevilling the country. Nwachukwu, aged 55, resided in Nasarawa for over 30 years and was a sachet water seller who used his apartment for residential purpose and production point. 

Three health workers arrested for indiscriminate dumping of medical waste

 

  Three health workers have been arrested by the Monitoring Team of the Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Felix Obuah, over indiscriminate dumping of clinical wastes by the roadside at the Akpajo Roundabout off Oil Mill Junction in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

    A Pastor, Moses Adeleke, with Living Faith Ministries has been released from the captivity of Boko Haram. The pastor, was abducted by the terrorist group in April while on a journey to distribute relief materials at Chibok.

NAFDAC destroys substandard drugs worth over N3.2bn

   The Director General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye,  has  said  NAFDAC  has destroyed fake drugs worth N3.2bn  in the past two years.

  Adeyeye spoke at a press  briefing in Abuja on Monday. She said, “The Agency raided two warehouses located within in a residential area in Igbo Amaeze Street, Awada Obosi, Onitsha, Anambra State, where substandard and falsified versions of popular brands of anti-malaria and antibiotics were stored.
