Russia banned from all international sports activities for the next four years

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) have issued Russia with a four-year ban from international sporting competition over doping failures. This means the country will not be able to compete at the 2020 Olympics, the Winter Games and World Cup in 2022.

The World Anti-Doping Agency’s board made the announcement after they convened on Monday for a meeting around the International Olympic Committee’s headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.  At the meeting, it was revealed that Russia had tampered with laboratory data. The agency found out that Russia planted fake evidence and deleted files linked to positive doping tests that could have helped identify drug cheats.

Presidency backs DSS on why Sowore was rearrested

The Presidency has dismissed insinuations in the media about the re-arrest by the Department of State Services (DSS) of Omoyele Sowore, saying no government will allow anybody to openly call for destabilization in the country and do nothing.

The President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, made this statement in Abuja on Sunday, in reaction to insinuations in the media about DSS re-arrest of Sowore.

We did not invade courtroom to arrest Sowore- DSS

Department of State Services (DSS), has said it never invaded court room at the Federal High Court in Abuja to arrest #RevolutionNow Convener, Omoyele Sowore. It said the incident on Friday was orchestrated for the purpose of propaganda and to bring the Service to disrepute.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the National Headquarters of the DSS in Abuja, Dr Peter Afunanya, said the agency, as a professional, responsible and law abiding organization, could not have invaded a courtroom including the one presided over by a respected Judge who is not only handling its case but whose order was unconditionally obeyed within a 24 hour ultimatum. This is coming as the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has asked the federal government to arrest and prosecute officials of the DSS who re-arrested Sowore, at a federal high court, Abuja, on Friday.

APC rebukes Atiku, PDP for condemning Buhari, DSS

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday rebuked the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, for condemning the Buhari government and the Department of State Services (DSS) over last Friday’s court invasion.

Recall that DSS operatives on Friday re-arrested Omoyele Sowore, convener of RevolutionNow campaign, a situation that has generated local and international criticisms. In a statement Sunday night, Lanre Issa-Onilu, APC National Publicity Secretary, said Atiku and the PDP chose to present and spread concocted alternative facts and lies on the incident.

It said the presidency has clarified that the DSS does not necessarily need the president’s permission in all cases to carry out its essential and constitutional responsibilities. Whether Sowore flouted any of his bail conditions or staged the incident in court is another matter which the court and the prosecuting agency should address”, APC stated.

''Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
James 4:10 KJV

Do you know that, sometimes, shame or embarrassment is a display of pride? It is you thinking that it is all about you, and not about Jesus. Pride always says ‘people have not seen me and because of that I am embarrassed.’ If you are not willing to humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, how can He exalt you? The blessing of humility is God’s grace that covers your weaknesses so that the devil would not be able to destroy you till He completes His work of transformation in your life.

The Word was made flesh . . . full of grace and truth.
—John 1:14
On the cover of your Bible and my Bible appear the words “Holy Bible.” Do you know why the Bible is called holy? Why should it be called holy when so much lust and hate and greed and war are found in it? It is because the Bible tells the truth.

Luke 23:45 ‘And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.’

LUKE 23:45

The veil spoken of here reached from the ceiling to the floor, from wall to wall, and separated the Holy of Holies from the holy place in the temple. Solomon’s temple was 30 cubits high (1 Ki. 6:2), but Herod increased the height to 40 cubits according to the writings of Josephus, a first century historian. Therefore, depending on what standard you use to convert cubits to feet (there is uncertainty as to exactly what a cubit equaled in our feet and inches), this veil was somewhere between 60 feet and 90 feet high.

Love never fails. – 1 Corinthians 13:8, The Amplified Bible

Fear of failure. It’s haunted all of us at some time in our lives. Popular psychology tells us to adjust to it. But the Word of God tells us that there is a failure-proof way to live without it. It is the way of love. If you want to know real success, you must learn to be moved and motivated by love. That’s how Jesus was when He was on the earth.
