Iran’s missile brought down Ukrainian plane- Canada PM

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Thursday evidence indicates an Iranian missile downed a Ukrainian jetliner late Tuesday and that the strike “may have been unintentional.” Trudeau says Canadian and allied intelligence supports that conclusion. He declined to get into the specific intelligence, but said it appeared it was a surface-to-air missile that struck the plane.

“We have intelligence from multiple sources including our allies and our own intelligence. The evidence indicates that the plane was shot down by an Iranian surface-to-air missile,” Trudeau told a news conference. He added: “This may well have been unintentional.” Earlier, U.S. officials said it was “highly likely” that an Iranian anti-aircraft missile downed the jetliner, killing all 176 people on board. They suggested it could well have been a mistake.

N8.5 billion to be spent on Enugu airport

The ongoing rehabilitation of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport runway will cost N8.5 billion, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Managing Director Captain Rabiu Yadudu said on Thursday.

Although President Muhammadu Buhari approved N10 billion for the work, not everything will be spent on it, he said. According to him, the contract cost is N8.5billion, adding that the balance of N1.5 billion is with the Ministry of Aviation. Yadudu spoke when he and other aviation agency heads appeared before the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation.

Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) Managing Director, Fola Akinkuotu, told the lawmakers that a 600-meter runway extension done in 2010 failed six years after. He said the collapse necessitated the major repair work because it requires base stabilisation to ensure it does not fail again. The lawmakers urged the contractor to ensure that the work is completed before Easter.

What an amazing account! God Almighty was born of a virgin and placed in a feeding trough in a stable. Who would ever expect the Creator of the universe to make His entrance into the world in such a humble fashion?

Men always seek to proclaim their glory as far and wide as possible. Yet here is the only one who really has any glory to proclaim, and He comes humbly. It wasn’t because He didn’t have the power to do things otherwise.

From everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. — Psalm 90:2

Have you ever thought about the collapse of time? From the days of the Lord Jesus Christ until about 1830, man could not travel any faster than a horse. In 1960, a man went into space and traveled at a speed of 18,000 miles an hour. Look how far we have come in so short a time! Sometimes when I read the papers, I think we are trying to run the Space Age with horse-and-buggy moral and spiritual equipment. Technology, you see, has no morals; and with no moral restraints man will destroy himself ecologically, militarily, or in some other way.

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland Devotional 10 January 2020 – Turn Your Kids Around

And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children. – Isaiah 54:13

Too many Christian parents today are wasting time worrying about their children.

Years ago, Gloria and I saw the devil trying to get a foothold in our children’s lives, so one weekend we got our concordance and four or five translations of the Bible. We began to search out scriptures and write out agreement prayers concerning them.

Text: Psalm 10:12-18

12 Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.

14 Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.

15 Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.

16 The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

Key Verse: “wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it” (Psalm 10:13)

MESSAGE:

Eugene Marcel Proust, known as Marcel Proust, a French novelist and essayist, observers that “Prosperity of wicked men runs like a torrent past, and soon is spent”. Life sometimes seem to play games on us. We are pressed from all sides and at such times, help is nowhere nearby. We seem forsaken. Worse still, all the signs that surround us appear to indicate that evil people are triumphing over us. Rather than become dispirited at such times, we should turn to God for solace.

Memorise: “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” – John 14:14

Read: Matthew 7:7-11 (KJV)

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
