Wike Lays Foundation For Convocation Arena In UNIPORT

   



    Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has fulfilled one of his promises to the University of Port Harcourt with the foundation laying ceremony of a convocation arena in the Institution.

Bill To Allow Creation Of State Police Passes Second Reading

   



    A bill to alter the constitution to allow for the creation of state police and other state government security services has scaled second reading in the House of Representatives. 

NCDMB recovers $100m from forensic audit remittances

   



    Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has recovered about 100 million dollars of undisputed obligations from forensic audit remittances between 2010 and 2017. Mr Simbi Wabote, Executive Secretary, NCDMB, made this known this while declaring open the “Nigerian Content Seminar”, at the Nigerian Oil and Gas (NOG) Conference in Abuja on Monday.

    Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff, has approved the redeployment of senior officers of the Nigerian Army to various formations across the country. This is the third major shakeup this year.

Sunday Igboho arrest is a nocturnal coup – Falana

   



   Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has described the invasion carried out on the Ibadan residence of Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, last Thursday by operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, as a “nocturnal coup”.   

Stop Pursuing Igboho As A Criminal – Wole Soyinka

   


Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka has asked the Federal Government to apologise to Sunday Igboho after officials of the Department of State Services invaded his home and killed two of his associates. The DSS invaded Igboho’s house in Ibadan, Oyo State, early on Thursday based on intelligence it said it had received that he was stockpiling arms to cause chaos within the region.
