   This computer science and informatics student at the Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa State is no stranger to singing. Kingdom sings with the Pamela Scott Music band based in Port Harcourt and has performed at wedding ceremonies, birthday parties and church services.

Singer, Sound Sultan dies at 44

   


Singer, Olanrewaju Fasasi aka Sound Sultan, has died. A statement released by his family says he died on July 11 after a long battle with throat cancer. The singer is survived by his wife and three children.

Ex-Kaduna deputy governor, Bala Bantex is dead

 


The immediate past deputy governor of Kaduna State, Arc. Bala Bantex, has died. Bantex who served in the first tenure of Governor Nasir El-Rufai, died in an Abuja hospital today Sunday, July 11. He was aged 64.

    Bantex was deputy governor to Governor Nasir El-Rufai between 2015 and 2019 when he resigned to contest for Kaduna South Senate seat in 2019 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He was defeated by the incumbent, Senator Danjuma La’ah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Confirming the death, Governor El-Rufai, in a statement released this afternoon, wrote;) 

Bandits abduct Emir of Kajuru and 12 other family members in Kaduna


    Bandits have kidnapped the Emir of Kajuru, Alhaji Alhassan Adamu, alongside members of his family and aides, including women and children.

    The Emir was attacked at his palace in Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, in the early hours of Sunday, July 11.

CBN releases guidelines, framework for Mobile Money Services


   The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, today released Regulatory Guidelines and Framework for Mobile Money Services in the country.

  According to CBN, the introduction of mobile telephony in Nigeria and its rapid growth and adoption among other factors have underscored its decision to issue the framework as it will create an enabling environment for the orderly introduction and management of mobile money services in Nigeria.

Lagos Panel Admits Autopsy Reports Of 99 Corpses Recovered On October 2020

   The Lagos Judicial Panel on Restitution for Victims of SARS and other related abuses has admitted in evidence post mortem results and Compact Discs of all 99 corpses deposited at the Lagos morgue between the 20th and the 27th of October 2020.

A consultant pathologist to the Lagos State Government, Professor John Obafunwa, who is testifying before the panel on Saturday brought the results following an order made on June 5, 2021, for it to be produced.
