POWER FROM ON HIGH BY BERNI DYMET

John 14:15-17 If you love me, you will do what I command. I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper to be with you forever. The Helper is the Spirit of truth. The people of the world cannot accept him, because they don’t see him or know him. But you know him. He lives with you, and he will be in you.

If I Could Turn Back Time By Berni Dymet

Ecclesiastes 7:10 Don’t say, “Life was better in the ‘good old days.’ What happened?” Wisdom does not lead us to ask that question.
Wow, can you believe it. It’s New Year’s Eve … again. Those years, man, they are slipping by so incredibly quickly. And tomorrow, it’ll be a whole new year. The problem is, you can’t take a hold of that, unless you let go of the past.

I don’t know what sort of a year you’ve had – good, bad or ugly. I’m guessing though, for most of us it was probably a bit of a mixed bag.

PUTTING YOURSELF UNDER STRESS BY BERNI DYMET

1 Corinthians 12:4-7 There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but they are all from the same Spirit. There are different ways to serve, but we serve the same Lord. And there are different ways that God works in people, but it is the same God who works in all of us to do everything. Something from the Spirit can be seen in each person. The Spirit gives this to each one to help others.

Berni dymet Devotional- Topic:Christmas, Just Imagine!

Berni dymet Devotional-  Topic:Christmas, Just Imagine!
John 1:14 The Word became a man and lived among us. We saw his divine greatness—the greatness that belongs to the only Son of the Father. The Word was full of grace and truth.

Can I ask you something? What exactly does a Christmas tree with decorations and presents have to do with Christmas? It’s so incongruous when you think about it. When all along, the point of Jesus coming has nothing whatsoever to do with our nice little traditions.

POWER FROM ON HIGH BY BERNI DYMET

POWER FROM ON HIGH BY BERNI DYMET
Acts 1:4,5 One time when Jesus was eating with them, he told them not to leave Jerusalem. He said, “Wait here until you receive what the Father promised to send. Remember, I told you about it before. John baptised people with water, but in a few days you will be baptised with the Holy Spirit.”

The Holy Spirit is God. We talk about God the Father and God the Son, but how often do you hear people talk about God the Holy Spirit? And in any case, why is it that Christians argue so much about the Holy Spirit? Why is that?

HIDING IN A CAVE BY BERNI DYMET

Psalm 57:9 My Lord, I will praise you before all people. I will sing praises about you to every nation. When things in your life have been at their worst, when you’ve been completely rock bottom, let me ask you, on a scale of zero to ten, how inclined were you at that point, to praise God? Hmm?

There was a time before David became King of Israel, when he was in fear of his life. King Saul his predecessor, had figured out that David was going to take the throne from him, so he hunted David down, in order to kill him.

So, we find David hiding in a cave, in fear of his life. Crying out to God.

Psalm 57:4 My life is in danger. My enemies are all around me. They are like man-eating lions, with teeth like spears or arrows and tongues like sharp swords.

STEADFAST LOVE BY BERNI DYMET

STEADFAST LOVE BY BERNI DYMET
Lamentations 3:22,23 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (NRSV)
God is faithful. That truth rolls so easily off the tongue. Living your life as though that’s true, living your life based on that truth, making decisions, taking steps of faith based on that truth when the chips are down, well, that’s not so easy.

There’s a word that’s used over and over again in the Bible – I know, the Bible you may be thinking – but just cut me some slack here.

It’s the word “steadfast” – and it’s used mostly to describe God’s love. Steadfast love. So I set about discovering what that word really means.
