Topic: The Power of a Renewed Heart [Joyce Meyer Devotional 5 April 2019]
But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. — 1 Samuel 16:7

God is the God of hearts. He does not look only at the exterior of a person, or even the things a person does, and judge the individual by that criterion. Man judges the flesh, but God judges the heart.

[Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM]. — John 14:14 (AMPC)

I reached a point in my prayer life where I felt frustrated, so I began to seek God about it. I wanted the assurance that my prayers were being effective. I wanted to have confidence that when I prayed, power was released to work in the situation I had prayed about. I wanted those things, but to be honest, I didn’t have that assurance or confidence.

The Secret to Defeating Fear By Joyce Meyer

The Secret to Defeating Fear By Joyce Meyer
You shall not need to fight in this battle; take your positions, stand still, and see the deliverance of the Lord [Who is] with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Fear not nor be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you. 2 Chronicles 20:17

All of us face various kinds of battles in our lives. No one escapes problems and challenges, which we often call “the storms of life.” The good news is that God already knows what He will do when we face difficulties. He has a plan to bring us victory. Second Chronicles 20 tells us that we do not need to fight our own battles because our battles belong to the Lord, not to us. All we need to do is take our positions and remain in them until our breakthroughs come.

What is that position? I believe it is worshiping God.

Topic: God Hears Our Prayers [Joyce Meyer Devotional 6 March 2019]
Elijah was a man with a nature like ours [with the same physical, mental, and spiritual limitations and shortcomings], and he prayed intensely for it not to rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land produced its crops [as usual]. — James 5:17-18 (AMP)

I like the fact that James makes the point that Elijah had a nature like ours. He was imperfect and displayed weaknesses, but God heard and answered his prayers.

Change Your Day by What You Think & Say - by Joyce Meyer

Change Your Day by What You Think & Say - by Joyce Meyer
The longer I live, the more I realize how strong a connection exists between our thoughts and our    words. I honestly believe that this connection is one of the most important things we can learn in our lives.

So many people's problems are rooted in their way of thinking, which can actually produce a lot of the problems they experience.

How does this happen?

Knowing Who I Am in Christ - by Joyce Meyer

Knowing Who I Am in Christ - by Joyce Meyer
Have you discovered how amazing your life in Christ is meant to be? This list reveals the truth about who God created you to be and how He wants you to live!

I am complete in Him Who is the head over all rule and authority—of every angelic and earthly power (Colossians 2:10).

I am alive with Christ (Ephesians 2:5).

I am free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2).

I am far from oppression, and will not live in fear (Isaiah 54:14).

The world is not hungry for mediocrity. This world needs 10s. I believe everyone can be a 10 at something, but we often work so hard on trying to overcome our weaknesses that we never develop our strengths.

Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. — John 16:7

Rahab hid the spies whom Joshua had sent in to spy out the land. Because of her they were kept safe from the king who would have killed them.

Before their departure she asked them to protect her just as she had protected them.

You Are Never Alone By Joyce Meyer

When we were expecting our second child, Dave and I shared an apartment with a couple of mice who were also expecting. Within a few weeks, we trapped seventeen baby mice—and I was terrified because I never knew what they were doing or when they’d appear!

One day I found a mouse in our bathtub.
Now just try and visualize this: I’m seven months pregnant, standing on a toilet seat with a plunger in my hand, trying to get that mouse! I eventually trapped him under the plunger. And as if that wasn’t enough, I tied the bathroom door shut, climbed onto the kitchen table, and waited there until Dave got home from work.

Turns out that tiny mouse was only a few days old; there was absolutely nothing for me to be afraid of! It just goes to show you how foolish we can be when we let our fears control us.

There is nothing wrong with feeling fear. It’s something we all experience in life. But God wants us to help us learn to confront our fears and conquer them one by one.

Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe and used as a bag]. For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others], it will be measured back to you. — Luke 6:38 (AMPC)

Come close to God…and He will come close to you… — James 4:8 (AMP)

I heard a story about former New York City mayor Fiorello LaGuardia. One winter night in 1935, LaGuardia paid a visit to night court in the poorest section of the city. He told the judge to take the night off, took his seat on the bench, and presided over the night’s cases himself.

“I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” — Psalm 91:2

Are you excessively tired all the time, and even after sleeping, do you wake up feeling tired all over again? You may be experiencing some of the symptoms of exhaustion, or what is commonly called “burnout.”

Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me…. — Psalm 23:4 (AMPC)

To be diligent means to be constant in effort or exertion to accomplish what is undertaken.

Many people are unhappy because they only want to do things that are easy or convenient. This saddens me because these people often cheat themselves out of the rewards God has for them simply because they want to avoid difficulty. However, if we are willing to let God help us do our best, we will reap great benefits.

As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with your likeness. — Psalm 17:15

In His Word God has given us the tools we need to help us through each new day. He has given us “the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness” (Isaiah 61:3 KJV). So, when you wake up in the morning, decide that no matter what happens, you will not be depressed today.

For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. — Romans 8:29

There is a God-shaped hole inside every one of us, and even if we had all the money in the world, there is nothing to be bought that could fill it. The only thing that is going to fill that craving is God Himself.

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. — Colossians 3:2

Our number one goal in life as Christians should be Christlikeness. Jesus is the express image of the Father, and we are to follow in His footsteps. He came as the pioneer of our faith to show us by example how we should live and conduct ourselves. We should seek to behave with people the way Jesus did.

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. — Ephesians 2:4-6 (NKJV)

…how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! — Matthew 7:11

The word good means, “useful; valuable; having qualities or a tendency to produce a beneficial effect.”
