PHOTO- Bank Manager shoots Himself Over Bad Bank Loan

   
   
 
      A Manager at a second generation bank, First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Plc, Mr. Olisa Nwakoby on Friday evening shot himself dead in the presence of his Priest at the Lekki area of Lagos Island, Lagos State. The father of a 10-year- old daughter was said to have taken his own life because of an incriminating huge loan transaction he approved in his bank
Olisa hails from Nkwelle Ezunaka in Oyi Local Government of Anambra State and he attended Abia State University, where he bagged a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree, in Microbiology between 1990 and 1995.

UNICEF- 244,000 Children May Suffer Acute Malnutrition



    According to Channels, the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has called on all international agencies and the Nigerian government to help assist children guide against the risk of malnutrition. UNICEF’s Communications Officer in Nigeria, Doune Porter said, part of the assistance is to provide medical help for close to 250,000 children whom it says will suffer from severe acute malnutrition this year if not treated.

13 Inmates Escape In Kogi Prison Break

   
      The incident occured at about 7.10am on Saturday. 13 inmates are said to broken their cells and escaped through the fence. Three of the 13 are convicts.This is about the third time a prison break is taking place at the Koton Karfe Prison.

Ogun Police Rescue Another Child In Chains

     
 
      Ogun State Police Command says it has rescued a 10-year-old girl, Promise Ude, who was chained by her aunt for stealing 4,000 Naira at Adigbe area of Abeokuta, the state capital. The rescue is coming barely a week after nine-year-old Korede Taiwo, who was chained by his pastor father, was rescued by security operatives in Ajibawo area of Ogun State.

FUTA suspends four students involved in alleged N16m internet fraud

     The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has indefinitely suspended four students of the institution that was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission  for the roles they played in an alleged N16 million Internet fraud.

Two ministerial nominees fails to recite the National anthem and pledge properly

Two ministerial nominees failed to recite the National anthem and pledge properly. The nominees, Ibrahim Isa from Niger state and Vivian Nwunaku Okeke from Anambra state mixed up the National Anthem and pledge when the chairman of the senate committee on Foreign Affairs, Monsurat Sunmonu asked them to recite it at the senate's screening exercise for the 47 ministerial nominees today July 26th.
