'My wife is getting difficult to control since I lost my job', What should i do?

       Culled from Pulse
My name is Daniel, a 42-year-old man. I have been married for five years but I am getting fed up with my wife's attitude in recent times just because I lost my job. Before I was sacked three years ago, things were going well for me and my wife, Betty, and our two kids did not lack anything because I made sure I provided the best I could for them.

worked with a telecommunication company and though the pay was not the best, I always made sure my family had the good things of life.
I made sure Betty did not use her own money for family maintenance, apart from providing little assistance here and there. My  children went to a good school and I paid their fees as at when due. But when I was retrenched along with others in my company, my wife became a changed person, always complaining about my inability to provide for the family.
I have searched for jobs to no avail and at this time, I need my wife's support but instead of being there for me, she has turned against me. She keeps reminding me of my responsibilities as the man and has refused to help out. She insults me at will, comparing me to her friend's husbands, telling me I have no authority over her since she is now the bread-winner of the house.
It gets to a point where she refuses to even help in paying our children's school fees or even buying food in the house.
She now goes out without telling me and if I question her, she would tell me she went to beg for money to feed her children. Another angle to the story is that I suspect she is having an affair because she gets calls at odd times and if I am around the house, she would go out to receive the calls.
She hides her phones from me and some weeks ago, she left the house and stayed away for a whole weekend without informing me where she went to and when she came back and I questioned her, she flew into a temper and told me never to question her movements because I have no authority over her.
I am really fed up.
Daniel."
