PHOTO- Thief Gets stuck While Attempting to Steal Building Materials in Akwa Ibom

       Residents of Esuk Oro, Oron woke up this morning to meet this man Effiong from Udung Okung stuck to building materials he was attempting to steal in a site. It took the intervention of the owner of the property to get him off the hook. He has since been handed over to the police.

Photo: 32 Seater Bus Manufactured by Ex-Niger Delta Agitators Arrive Abuja for Delivery

       The 32-seater bus manufactured by ex-Niger Delta militants arrived Abuja today, for onward delivery to President Buhari in honour of his commitment to the Amnesty Programme and the Niger Delta Region. The 80 former militants who graduated from the Innoson Kiara Academy in Enugu on August, produced the vehicle.

National Asset Sale- Dialogue With Militants, Senate Urge President Buhari

     
     

 The Senate, yesterday, kicked against last week’s recommendation of the National Economic Council, NEC, which asked the Federal Government to sell the country’s national assets. The Senate’s position came on a day the Federal Government said no final decision had been taken on the matter. NEC had recommended sale of the assets to raise capital to shore up foreign reserves and, by extension, bail out the country from the current economic recession.

Former Nigerian Naval Chief Arraigned for Alleged Corruption

       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday arraigned a former Chief of Naval Staff, Usman Jibrin, before a court in Abuja on corruption charges. He is a retired vice admiral alongside two others: Bala Mshelia and Shehu Ahmadu, both retired rear admirals.
