Adama Barrow has been sworn-in as the new President of The Gambia

According to reports, Barrow took the oath of office at the Gambian Embassy yesterday  in Dakar, Senegal.

The Gambia’s new president Adama Barrow called on the country’s armed forces  to “demonstrate their loyalty” in a standoff with YahyaJammeh, the longtime leader who has refused to step down despite an election defeat.
Meanwhile Senegalese troops have entered The Gambia in support of Adama Barrow, after he was sworn in.
West African leaders have threatened to remove him by force if necessary, while the 15-member UN Security Council has given them its backing, stressing that a political solution should be attempted first.
