Matthew 5:7 - Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.
God’s mercy is covenantal loyalty in action. Throughout Scripture are promises that His mercy is renewed each morning. God loves mercy.
This kind of loyalty and compassion begins at home and should be encouraged in our churches. We should then take mercy out into the streets with us, to our jobs, our neighbors, to those who are hurting and in need of our help.
The church without loyal mercy is a fraud. It becomes a house of legalism, nothing more than the religious keeping a set of rules made by man rather than God. If you are not currently in a church that is 100 percent loyal to the Word of God—refusing to edit or delete those parts that make people uncomfortable—you need to find a new church as soon as you can! Look for a place that preaches the uncompromised Word of God. For this unadulterated message, there is absolutely no substitute!
1 John 3:8 says, “…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
Pastor Matt explains how our past and future rest in this one verse. Jesus came to bring light, destroying the darkness and chaos Satan unleashes on this earth. He went to the Cross to conquer death, hell and the grave; then built a new heaven where He will rule for all eternity…the curse of sin forever destroyed. Jesus came to give us hope, but we must make the decision to follow Him.
