John Hagee Daily Devotional 3rd December 2018- Spiritual Growth Foundations of Faith

Daniel 3:17—If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

The three Hebrew children told Nebuchadnezzar, “Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us.”  Are you in trouble right now?    Are you in the fiery furnace of sickness?  Are you in the fiery furnace of financial crisis?  Have you been mastered by worry and depression?  I have good news for you.  “Our God whom we serve is able to deliver you.”

Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had been taught the word of God by their parents.  They knew that the God of Israel is the God who delivers.  He’s the God who conquered mighty Pharaoh down in Egypt by turning the water to blood.  He brought death to all the firstborn.  He’s the God who drowned Pharaoh and when his bloated corpse drifted to the shore, Moses pointed to Pharaoh’s lifeless body and said, “Our God is able to deliver us.”

But notice the words of the text. “Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us.”  God does not deliver those who do not serve.  God does not come to deliver deadbeats; they become crispies in the fire.  He comes to deliver servants.  So how are you serving God?  Do you tithe?  Do you pray?  Do you serve?

Jesus said, “He that is greatest among you shall be your servant” Matthew 23:11.  Romans 12:10 says, “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor.”  Where are you serving?  How well are you serving where you are serving?  If you are not serving, when you get in the fire God won’t come for you.
