John Hagee Daily Devotional 4 January 2018

Daniel 3:18—But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up. The Three Hebrew Children’s Loyalty To God Did Not Depend On Whether Or Not He Worked A Miracle On Their Behalf!

Notice what the three Hebrew children told king Nebuchadnezzar that they did not even have to think about whether they were going to bow or not.  The answer was “no” because the God they served was able to deliver them (Daniel 3:16-17).

They did not demand that God meet their timetable or their faith formula.  The three Hebrew children knew that disappointment would not lead them to disbelief.  They knew God could deliver them—and expected Him to –but if He chose not to, they would not become bitter and resentful.

Job said, “Lord, you’ve taken my health.  Now my dear wife says to me, ‘Curse God and die,’ and with friends like I’ve got, who needs enemies?  But if you slay me, the last ounce of my body is going to bless you”  that’s a real loose translation.  Does that describe you?

Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane, carrying the burdens of the world—all the sin, sickness and sorrow of the world—said, ”Father, if it is possible…” Then he said, “Nevertheless, not My will but thine be done.”

Daniel 3:27 says the fire had no power over them.  “And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counselors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was a hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.”  Not even the smell of smoke on them.  The soldiers who had thrown them into the fire were consumed by it.  They were politically correct, but dead wrong.
