John Hagee's Daily Devotional 12 January 2018- Comfort Zone

Hebrews 11:32, 38-…and of the prophets…Of whom the world was not worthy: they wandered in deserts, and in mountains and in dens and caves of the earth.
We Must Be Prepared For Conflict, Not Comfort!

People fail to stand in the evil day because they have succumbed to the comfort syndrome.  Everything in America today, including the church, must be absolutely, positively comfortable.  We want to be cool when it’s hot and hot when it’s cold.  We have to have cars with posturepedic seats, steam-heated doorknobs and engines that run by computers and cars that talk to us.  We have homes that by third world standards are palaces.  Our clothes cannot just be things that go around and meet in the front, they must be in fashion.  This is the generation with Calvin Klein on their behind and nothing on their mind.

But our objective in the army of God, Paul says, is to please Him who called us to be a soldier.  Our objective is not to appease CNN or make the ACLU feel comfortable or make the secular humanists love us it’s to please the Living God and nobody else.

God’s highest goal is not your comfort.  God’s highest goal is that you conform to the image of Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ was a servant who was called to sacrifice.  When you sell out heart, soul, mind and body to Christ, you may be called to sacrifice.  That’s what Jesus did.  Calvary is not the name of a picnic ground just outside the eastern wall of Jerusalem.  It is the place of a battlefield where Jesus Christ made a stand against the hordes of hell.  Thank God He won the victory!
