John Hagee Daily Devotional 10th May 2018- Mark 10:45

Mark 10:45 - For Even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.
Why did Jesus Christ come to Earth? To Serve. He left the pinnacles of glory and stepped onto the earth to redeem us from death, hell, and the grave.  He came as a servant, and He touched the untouchable, and He loved the unlovable, and He gave mercy to those who were merciless. Then after more than three years of selfless ministry, He extended His hands on the cross of Calvary and hung His head and died that we might be saved from the penitentiary of sin.

What do you think of when you read the word servant? The tendency is to think of some pathetic soul who has no will, who is crushed in spirit, lacking in self-esteem. Think of this: God's objective for you and for me is to be conformed to the glorious image of His Son, Jesus Christ. And the image that God has established for His Son is that of a servant. God is not looking for superstars, but He is looking for men and women who bear the express image of His Son, Jesus Christ, the Servant King.
