Nigerian footballer, Elderson Echiejile get married to his Boo in France (photo)


 

    29-year Nigerian professional footballer, Elderson Echiejile, who plays for Spanish club, Sporting de Gijón on loan from AS Monaco FC as a left back, is married. He tied the knot with his fiancée, Oghenevwemo Ziregbe, on Saturday in France. 

Army University to take off in September - COAS

 

      The Nigerian Army University Biu in Borno will take off next September, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai has said.

   Buratai made the disclosure shortly after receiving the Certificate of Occupancy and the surveyed site master plan for the university site from Gov. Kashim Shettima in Maiduguri yesterday. He said that the Army had already reached out to the National Universities Commission (NUC) to secure approval for the university.

Senate President to meet with Central Bank of Nigeria over high interest rate

   


    Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has promised that the Senate will look into the high interest rate charged by banks in the country, as there is chance that there will be a debate on the issue this week.

Supreme Court gets new Registrar

 

     The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen, has appointed Justice Hadiza Uwani Mustapha as the new Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court.

A statement by the apex court yesterday said Mrs Mustapha will assume office on July 1 to replace the current Chief Registrar, Mr Ahmad Gambo Saleh, who will, on the same day, resume as the new Secretary of the National Judicial Council (NJC). Her appointment was contained in a Letter of Offer of Appointment signed by the Secretary of the Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC), Mrs Bilkisu Bashir.
