   Punch reported that the affected workers were being owed six months’ salary, and the remaining 25 per cent of their entitlements. The incident caused panic and chaos in the area as the workers protested after resolving to take the matter up with civil society organisations including the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union  Congress of Nigeria.

Court fines former first lady, Patience Jonathan, N50k for withdrawing her suit against EFCC

 
    Justice S. Seidu of a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has imposed a fine of N50,000 on former First Lady, Patience Jonathan, for withdrawing a suit instituted against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Family of former Channels TV state house correspondent, Chukwuma Onuekwusi, release his obituary

   

    The family of former Channels TV state house correspondent, Chukwuma Onuekwusi, have released his obituary. Chukwuma died in an Abuja hospital on May 23rd after a brief illness. According to the obituary, his remains will be buried on July 14th at his hometown in Akabo Ikeduru in Imo state. He was 55 years old. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

Osinbajo, Jonathan Pay Tribute To Maitama Sule

    Acting President Yemi Osinbajo and former President Goodluck Jonathan have mourned the death of elder statesman, Maitama Sule. Maitama Sule died Monday in a hospital in Cairo, Egypt’s capital while receiving treatment for an illness.



    Professor Osinbajo, on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari, the Government and the entire people of Nigeria, extended his heartfelt condolences to family, friends, associates of the late Danmasinin Kano, as well as the government of Kano State.

Osinbajo signs Diaspora Commission, Petroleum Training Institute bills

   

    Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has assented to Nigerians’ in Diaspora Commission Establishment Bill 2017. He also signed the Petroleum Training Institute Amendment Act 2017.
