Housewife jailed for being pregnant for another man

 

    Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Friday sentenced one Rose James, 23, to two months in prison for adultery. The judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, however, gave her N10,000 option of fine.

Senate vow to end LAUTECH crisis

 

    The Senate has vowed to bring to an end the crisis bedeviling the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) that led to the closure of the institution for almost two years.

  Speaking while receiving a delegation led by the president of LAUTECH Alumni Association, Professor Adewale Sunday, in Abuja, the President of the Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, described the continuous closure of the school as “pathetic and unacceptable.” Saraki, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Mohammed Isa, reiterated the commitment of the Senate to the quick resolution of the crisis.

INEC fixes Aug. 19 for Gombe Assembly bye-election

 

  The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed August 19 for the bye-election for Dukku North state Assembly seat of Gombe State.

Banks React To Court Order, Deny Violation Of TSA Policy


    Some of the Nigerian banks ordered by the Federal High Court in Lagos to remit $793.2m, allegedly hidden with them in contravention of the Federal Government’s Treasury Single Account (TSA) policy have denied any wrongdoing.
