NANS gives Petroleum training institute Effurun 24hrs ultimatum to reverse tuition fee increase

 

   The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the management, Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, Delta State, to reverse increase in tuition fee in the school. NANS’ President, Mr Chinonso Obasi, in a statement on Monday in Abuja, said that new tuition fee as officially released by the school management was adverse, hence it would be resisted by Nigerian students.

Nigeria loses N127bn to cyber crime

 

    The President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, says Nigeria has lost about N127 billion to cyber-crime.

   He made this known at Nigeria’s first Legislative Stakeholders Conference on ICT and Cyber security on Monday in Abuja. Saraki, who was represented by Senate Minority Whip Sen. Philip Aduda Saraki did not, however, specify the period within which the nation lost such an amount to cyber-crime.

ASUP threatens to begin strike Nov. 13

 

   The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) says it will embark on an indefinite strike with effect from Monday, Nov. 13, unless the Federal Government pays its 2016 shortfalls and all outstanding arrears.

Lagos ranks world’s second cheapest city



    Nigeria commercial nerve centre, Lagos, has been ranked the second cheapest city in the world for expatriates. According to a report by the Economic Intelligence Unit on Monday, Lagos which fell 16 places to 132nd place on the world priciest cities index joins Kazakhstan’s Almaty at the bottom.
