Emmerson Mnangagwa to be sworn in as President of Zimbabwe


 

   Emmerson Mnangagwa is to be sworn in as Zimbabwe's president, following the dramatic departure of Robert Mugabe after 37 years of authoritarian rule. The former vice-president, who returned from exile on Wednesday, will be inaugurated at Harare's stadium today.

Mugabe Granted Immunity, Assured Of Safety

 

   Zimbabwe’s former president Robert Mugabe has been granted immunity from prosecution and assured that his safety would be protected in his home country as part of a deal that led to his resignation, sources close to the negotiations said on Thursday.
