(LOCAL) Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue Swears-In Six Acting Local Government Chairmen

 

  Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue on Tuesday in Makurdi swore in Acting Chairmen for six local governments, following the suspension of the affected area’s chairmen by the State House of Assembly.

(LOCAL) Code Of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) Rejects Court Orders To Stop CJN Onnoghen’s Trial



   The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has rejected High Court orders and request by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen restraining it from hearing charges against him. The members of CCT in a split decision of two to one, refused to adjourn the matter indefinitely.

(LOCAL) Council Of State Approves N27, 000 Minimum Wage

 

   The National Council of State on Tuesday endorsed N27,000 as new National Minimum Wage. Ngige made this known when he briefed State House correspondents on the outcome of the Council’s meeting which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The minister revealed that the bill on the new minimum wage of N27,000 would be transmitted to the National Assembly in the next 24 hours for passage into law.

(LOCAL) Buhari sacks TETfund boss, Bichi Baffa

 

   President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the removal of the Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund,Tetfund,Dr Abdullahi Bichi Baffa.

  The president, in a statement by the Federal Ministry of Education, released to the media through the Deputy Director, Information, Mr Bem Goong, said Professor Suleiman Elias Bogoro, was reappointed to take over the TETFund as the Executive Secretary.
