(LOCAL) President Buhari Suspends Onnoghen, Swears In Mohammed As Acting CJN

 

  President Muhammadu Buhari has suspended the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen. Following the suspension, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed has been appointed as the acting CJN.

    Amanda, 4-year old  was sold in Enugu State while Christabel  2-year old was sold to a couple believed to be living in Port Harcourt, River State.
 
   The Nation reports that the sisters were stolen last year from Utese village in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State by two ladies who rented one room in their father’s house. Since June 4, 2018 when the two ladies simply identified as Rose and Mary took them away, their whereabouts have remained elusive even though the police have arrested four suspects who made confessional statements.

(LOCAL) Peoples Democratic Party Wants ICPC To Investigate Minister Of Information And Culture, Ahaji Lai Mohammed


     The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has yesterday, January 24  urged the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, to investigate the Minister of Information and Culture, Ahaji Lai Mohammed. The party said the anti-graft agency should go beyond the Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, Is’haq Kawu Modibbo and institute a system-wide investigation into the N2.5 billion NBC scandal, including alleged role possibly played by Mohammed.    The party in a statement signed by its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, pointed out that the ICPC’s uncovering of fraud in the N2.5 billion NBC Digital Switch Over, DSO, contract has further exposed the inherent corruption in the Presidency. The statement read,
