(LOCAL) Court Restrains Gov. Ganduje From Inaugurating New Emirates



   Following the decision of the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje to appoint four new first class emirs barely 24 hours after signing into law a hurriedly passed bill breaking the Kano Emirate Council into five, a move many see as an attempt to deplete Emir Lamido Sanusi’s influence,  the Kano State High Court granted a group of PDP lawmakers in the state House of Assembly an order restraining Governor Abdullahi Ganduje from implementing the breakup of Kano Emirate.

(LOCAL) New NYSC DG Assumes Office



   Shuaibu Ibrahim, the newly appointed director-general of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), officially assumed duty on Friday as the 18th director general, with a five-point agenda to improve the scheme. Ibrahim, while receiving the mantle of leadership from Suleiman Kazaure, the ex-DG, at the NYSC headquarters, Abuja, said top on his agenda is utilising the potential of corps members.

Time is running out. The seconds are ticking away toward midnight. The human race is about to take the fatal plunge. Which way shall we turn? Is there any authority left? Is there a path we can follow? Can we find a code book that will give us the key to our dilemmas? Is there any source of authority to which we can turn? Have we just been placed here by some unknown creator or force without any clue as to where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going?

A lot of people have been playing games when it comes to the Word. They claim to be faith people in public. But, in private, they never open the Bible at all. Then, when a time of trouble comes and they try to stand on the Word, they fall flat on their spiritual faces.

Well, the time for playing games is over. It’s time for us to realize that real faith involves action. James 2:20 says faith without works [or corresponding action] is dead.

If you want the kind of faith that will keep you on your feet when others are falling around you, you need to take some action where the Word is concerned.
