  President Muhammadu Buhari said he will move to make the police and the judiciary to be more efficient in his second term which begins on Wednesday.

(POLITICS) HDP Ask Court To Stop Buhari’s Inauguration

 

   Hope Democratic Party, HDP, one of the parties that participated in the February 23 Presidential election has asked the Supreme Court to stop the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari slated for Wednesday.

   The party prayed the apex court to restrain the President-elect from presenting himself for swearing in ceremony pending the final determination of petitions challenging the validity of his election. In a notice of appeal to Supreme Court, the party faulted the striking out of its motion on the notice by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal on may 22, on ground of lack of merit.

(LOCAL) EFCC To Appeal Acquittal Of Jonathan’s Cousin

 

   The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has described as unfortunate the acquittal of Robert Azibaola, a cousin to former president, Goodluck Jonathan, who was charged for $40 million fraud before Justice Nnamdi Dimgba.

(LOCAL) Kano Gets New Commissioner Of Police

 

   The Inspector General of Police ( I-G), Mr Mohammed Adamu has ordered the immediate posting of Commissioner of Police, Mr Ahmed Iliyasu to Kano State Command. Ilyasu takes over from CP Wakili Mohammed, who retired from the Force on May 26 after 35years of meritorious service to the Force and Nigeria at large.

(LOCAL) Ghanaian Varsity Offers $40,000 Scholarship To GAMB 2019 Best Student

 

   Academic City College, a private university in Accra, Ghana, has offered scholarship worth $40,000 to Ekene Franklin Ezeunala, the candidate who scored 347 – the highest score – in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
