Gov. Okowa Appoints Five Special Advisers



     Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has appointed five Special Advisers, including Prof. Sylvester Monye, as Senior Policy Adviser.
   
   The Secretary to the State Government, Mr Chiedu Ebie, announced this in a statement he made available to newsmen in Asaba on Wednesday.

Navy Arrests 19 Suspects, Recovers 5 Boats, 168 Drums Of AGO

 

   Operatives of the Nigerian Navy (NN) on Wednesday arrested 19 suspected oil thieves including two women and recovered five boats laden with 168 drums of 300 litre each of AGO. The arrests were made by a team comprising operatives from Naval Headquarters and Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Pathfinder around Bakana creeks, a notorious hideout for the syndicate engaged in illegal refining of petroleum products.

I Said I’ll Review Not Clear Apapa Gridlock In 60 days – Sanwo-Olu


   Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has backpedaled on his words to solve Apapa gridlock in 60 days, saying he never said so and that he was being misquoted.

   Addressing State House Correspondents in Abuja on Tuesday, the governor said he never promised to clear the traffic congestion in 60 days rather, he would review what had been done on Apapa roads in 60 days. “Interestingly, some media houses have actually been counting down on me. They said that I mentioned during the campaign train that I was going to clear it in 60 days.

University Of Ibadan Expels 5 Students, Rusticates 16

 

    The Central Student Disciplinary Committee, CSDC, of the University of Ibadan, UI, has meted various punishments to 22 erring students of different departments, with five of them expelled from the school and 16 others rusticated. According to a Special Bulletin 4220 signed by the institution’s Registrar, Olubunmi O. Faluyi, the CSDS took its decision on the erring students at its meeting held on Thursday, May 9, 2019.
