Abductors of ASUP Chairman, 3 others demand N500m ransom

   Abductors of four staff of the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igbo Ora and one other person who were kidnapped on Thursday, have demanded the sum of five hundred million naira N500 million as ransom for the release of the abductees, DAILY POST reports.

   Our correspondent recalls that the four staff of the institution, who were kidnapped included the Chairman of the Academic Staff of Polytechnics (ASUP), Mr. Opadijo Oluyide, Secretary of the union, Mr. Gbenga Alayande, two other staff of the institution and wife of one of the victims. On Saturday that Olujide, Alayande and two other staff of the institution along with wife of one of the victims were kidnapped while coming from a meeting which was held in Saki on Thursday.

Man Drowns After Proposing To His Girlfriend Underwater


   A man has drowned after proposing to his girlfriend underwater during a "bucket list" holiday in Tanzania. Steven Weber and Kenesha Antoine were staying in a wooden cabin that had a partially submerged structure allowing them to look out under the ocean.

Footage shows the moment Mr Weber, from Baton Rouge in Louisiana, swam up to an underwater window before holding up an A4 sheet of paper asking Ms Antoine to marry him.

Police confirm abduction of ASUU chairman



  Reports on abduction of some lecturers of the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology(OYSCATECH), has been confirmed by the police on Friday.

Gbajabiamila express disappointment with absence of security chiefs



   Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila on Friday vowed to report Security Chiefs personally to President    Muhammadu Buhari for snubbing a security meeting convened by the House of Representatives. The House had summoned the meeting with the Security Chiefs for briefing on the anti-terrorism war.

   But the Security Chiefs, including Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Ibok Ete- Ekwe and the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshall Sadiq Abubakar snubbed the summon.
