Mugabe to be buried in his Zvimba home village



    Former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe will be buried at his rural home in Zvimba this weekend during a private ceremony, the government said Thursday.

APC Dismiss Claims On Crisis In Presidency Between President Buhari And Vice President Yemi Osinbajo

   

   The All Progressives Congress, APC, has spoken on the rumoured crack at the presidency. The party dismissed the claims that have been making rounds about a faceoff between President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

SSS not receiving court order untrue -Falana

 
The lawyer representing the detained publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, has reacted to a claim by the State Security Service (SSS) that it was not served with copies of the order directing the release of the publisher.

    In a telephone interview with PREMIUM TIMES Thursday evening, Mr Sowore’s lead counsel, Femi Falana, said he doubts that the statement made by the SSS spokesperson, Peter Afunaya, was authorised by the Director-General of the agency, Yusuf Bichi. Mr Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, also said the SSS had a duty to comply, not only with this order, but also with all the orders made by courts of law in Nigeria.

   Police have uncovered a house in Kaduna, with more than 300 hundred detained people, among them five to ten year-olds. They had chains on their legs.

Flood displace 5,000 families in Kogi state



   Over 5, 000 families in Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State have been displaced by flood. It also destroyed property running into millions. Mostly affected are communities close to the River Niger and Analo River, which overflowed their banks, submerging residential buildings, schools and farmlands.
