MTN Nigeria appoints new executive director

 

  MTN Nigeria Communication PLC on Friday announced the appointment of Modupe Kadri as its new Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The new appointment is to take effect from March 1, 2020. Kadri replaces Adekunle Awobodu as CFO. Mr Awobodu’s intended departure was announced in July 2019.

  The communication company disclosed this through a disclosure notice sent to the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Friday. It also expressed its appreciation to Awobodu for his commitment and service to the company. “His dedication, extensive knowledge, financial expertise and experience across MTN Croup earned him great respect,” it said.

Killing of Kogi PDP women leader barbaric- President Buhari

 

  The killing of a 60-year-old mother, Salome Achejuh Abuh, in Kogi State by suspected political thugs is barbaric, President Muhammadu Buhari said on Sunday He described the murder as a “primitive behaviour” that has no place in a civilised society.

According to him, Mrs Abuh’s killing was an act of bestiality, for which those responsible must be brought to justice. The late Mrs. Abuh, a former councillor, was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) women leader in Kogi State.

Buhari’s aide, Onochie reveals why Air Peace Chairman evacuated Nigerians from South Africa

 

   President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, has pointed out reasons why the Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema evacuated Nigerians who were stranded in South Africa during the xenophobic attack. Onochie claimed that Onyema had an ulterior motive when he evacuated stranded Nigerians in South Africa free of charge.

   In a series of tweets, the presidential aide said she was not fooled by Onyema’s “heroism” because she knew something was up, adding that the Air Peace boss knew America had him where they wanted him.

She tweeted: “When the scales suddenly fall off their eyes, we must give it time because it’s either they are pursuing something or something is pursuing them. “When AirPeace Proprietor became a “Hero”, I was not fooled. Something was pursuing him. He knew America had him where they wanted him.”

NDDC Distributes Medical Kits Vaccines To Flooded Communities

 

    The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has provided maternal delivery kits and cholera vaccines to ameliorate the pains of displaced inhabitants of flood-ravaged communities in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Lagos shuts Christ Embassy, water parks, west gate lounge, mosques over noise pollution


Officials of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, have shutdown Christ Embassy Church, Iyana Ipaja; churches, mosques, hotels and others over noise pollution.

In all, 20 facilities were shut by the government on Saturday in its determination to curb the menace of environmental nuisance across the state and further restore sanity and orderliness.

The exercise, which cut across churches, mosques, hotels and nightclubs, included Water Parks at ikeja; West gate Louge, Omole, Magodo phase 1; Skylouge Bar, Oko Oba; Mallam Garba Mosque, Iloro; Dick Jockey outlets, Dopemu, Agege; Christ Embassy Church, Iyana ipaja and El Castillo Homes, Abule Egba.
